TELDOK reports on productive use of IT

TELDOK was initiated in 1979 by the Board of Telia, Sweden’s largest telecommunications operator, to:
  • Document, as early as possible, the use of new IT applications;
  • Publish, distribute, and–where needed–translate to Swedish, while comparing to the Swedish situation, information;
  • Arrange study trips and seminars
TELDOK activities are coordinated by the TELDOK Editorial Board with wide representation from end users, suppliers, academia, and authorities.

What are the most fundamental patterns in human information handling? And how do we know when these really are changing? – See The Long Now of Information!

Via 40: The long now of information -- released in September 2000 Via TELDOK 40: The Long Now of Information sets out to discern fundamental patterns in human information handling. Some of these are cognitive and perceptual, some are social and organizational, some have turned out to be physical. Consequently, if these fundamental patterns actually were to change, this would be most important.

   The Long Now of Information was written by Dr Bengt-Arne Vedin and can be read here for free. The printed book can be ordered [click the buy-it button!] at a cost of 17 US dollars (postage included).
